I am what I am

The song of beeing not enough

I never was able

to drink a man under the table

This is the song of beeing not enough

When I was a young girl

My familiy said:

You should better keep your mouth shut,

the milk will become sour,

when you are singing.

Shut up, you are so stupid

So I stopped singing and talking.

I never was able able

To drink a man under the table.

When I was grown up

I joint a group of revolutinary students.

What did I hear?

You are not sexy enough-

Your are not intelligent enough.

You didn’t read enough books.

You don’t read the right books.

You should read the books of Lenin

Not the books of Trotzki.

Why are you so angry?

You should be more friendly.

So I red more books,

I read the right books

I read Lenin and I was boared.

I became friendly.

I never was able

To drink a man under the table.

I left this group

Because I was not good enough

And joint a feministic group.

What did I hear?

You are too intellectual –

Follow your emotions.

You are too sexy

You are too fancy –

Show your mind, not your body.

Your are too friendly –

Be more aggresiv against men.

So I became more aggressiv,

I hid my body with wide cloths

I threw make up in the garbage basket

I joint self awareness groups

for women only.

I never was able

to drink a man under the table

I was confused.

I was angry and friendly,

sexy and hidden

stupid and intellectual

I had the right and the wrong attidude

What is right and what is wrong?

Which is the rigt book?

Who is right and who is wrong?

Lenin, Stalin, Trotzki, Mao Tse Tung?

Capitalism, Feminism, Socalism, Constructivism?

I am so tired of beeing not enough.

I am what Iam.

That’s enough.
